BBF Holiday Hop : The Penguin Who Wanted to Be Different

John only has a couple more lunches to go before he's off for his holiday break and we're thrilled to be able to share today's for a Bento Bloggers & Friends Blog Hop!

When you're done here, make sure you click on the link at the bottom of the post to keep hopping ... and continue doing that until you end up here again!

At some point last year or the year before John picked out The Penguin Who Wanted To Be Different from his Scholastic book flyer from school.

And we never read it.....
until now!

It's a cute little story about Dorothy the penguin who, well, wanted to be different. She gets a visit from Santa on the night of Christmas Eve and the picture of them walking in the moonlight is what John requested for lunch!
In his PlanetBox Shuttle, the moon is a bologna & cheese sandwich. The "snow" is Pirate booty. Santa and Dorothy are drawn on Empire Jack cheese. Christmas-themed fruit snacks were used for the stars and trees. In the small compartment he has a clementine and a couple of Christmas cookies.

Now, click the button below to go see the flurry of fun happening over at BentOnBetterLunches!

Oh my goodness, Karen, your cheese art is just astounding. Your drawing of Santa and the penguin is just so sweet and touching. I'm definitely going out to get this book for my girls! Great job, girl!
